Finding “True” Top Dead Center is absolutely critical on a racing engine, if you’ve got the heads off, then using a B&B TDC indicator stop will let you find true top dead center accurately.
By centering the thumbscrew to contact the piston in the center (negating any piston rock), then in conjunction with a degree wheel, you rotate the engine till the piston hits the stop. Mark the degree wheel, then rotate it in the opposite direction till it hits the stop and mark the degree wheel. True TDC is half way between those two marks on your degree wheel.
This stop will work on any engine, a great addition to your tool box!
